Late December, 2017
The first of December we climbed to the 6th floor of two walk-ups before finding a building with an open front door, an unlocked courtyard, and a shaky ladder to the roof. You might not remember how you teared up a little bit, but I’d be too ashamed to fabricate something so corny as watching the moon hang on the tear in your right eye.
I buried my head in your shoulder and trembled. Whole body shook, voice box rumbled. A few hours later you fucked me in the butt since we both knew it was ending and we cared for one another in our own way. It was the appropriate thing to do. Still you’ve never seen me cry.
